First Part of my Project 365 Album sent for printing

I decided to make my project 365 into books - in 6 parts - with 2 months per book - Ive ordered my first book from Artscow.com  - 32 pages for $12.49 ( with a discount coupon) - really cant be bad!!

Im making my p365 album using a different instant album plus for every 2 months so doing it in 6 separate books works well for me although I will probably use the same cover for all the books
You can see the book here http://www.artscow.com/share/0cjin58r0i9i

What a beautiful fantasy land Lynnie has created here

Next is this incredible layout by MarsOlsen using the SeriouslySteampunk kit - I just LOVE the blending and the title is so creative

Here is what Mars had to say about this layout

This marvelous kit is fabulous for funky steampunk style while the antique patina and finely crafted elements will add vintage charm to heritage layouts.

These are rusting steam engines in Bolivia. I used 4 photos blended together.

and another layout with a train theme - this one by Honeymoon and it uses a great heritage photo of the Flying Scotsman

Here are her notes about this layout

My Grandad caught the Flying Scotsman from Edinburgh to London in 1924, prior to emmigrating to NZ.

In creating this layout I've found out that he didn't catch the engine that is currently being restored as this was on display at the time of their emmigration.

Pick of the Pack June 23

How cool is this layout??- what creativity !!!!!!- -
What more can I say - Mandy has created some magic here

Heres what she had to say about this layout

My first Steampunk LO - whoa that was fun!!! This picture of Megan looking through those viewfinder things you put money into and it's like looking through a zoom lens was taken today at the beach. LOL and yes with a steampunk LO in mind

Let's see if I can remember what all I did here. My goal was to create the illusion that Megan and her balloon were going through a portal

1) I applied several different blend modes to the bg papers to create the darker side of the portal
2) I applied a distort transformation to my "wall" and the screws, adding a chiseled bevel to the wall for more dimension
3) I created a full dark cloud that covered the sky and even came through the portal just a bit using several copies of an extracted dark cloud area (rotating and flipping for variations)
4) To Megan I added a sepia tint and then lowered it to 80% opacity to let back in a smidge of color and I gave her a shadow
5) I masked off a portion of the port hole to make the portal, distorting it a bit as well.

This 2 page layout just leapt out of the gallery at me - Im a sucker for nature photography at any time and this is a wonderful photo of obviously an amazing place.  Im also a sucker for layouts that combine art and journalling to make for great memory keeping as well as a display of artistic endevour.

Here is what Heather has to say about her layout
I don't do a whole lot of 2-page layouts, but when I saw this Quick Click by Tina Chambers, I knew I wanted it to scrap these photos from one of our trips to the White Mountains in New Hampshire. They're from 2001 and I'm not sure why I never scrapped them before. I guess I just wasn't inspired to do so until now. The Quick Click is called Flourishing Style 2 Page Quick Click and it comes complete with flourishing masks and beautiful word overlays to crop and enhance your layout. I also used Lauren Bavin's Rainforest Page Kit. It was such a perfect match for my photos, it makes it difficult to tell where the photos end and the kit begins.

PICK OF THE PACK - JUNE 21st

I have 2 picks today from the DSP Gallery - and they are about as different as you could get!!!!!!

Firstly this lovely elegant and beautiful layout by Diturpin

Ive never seen a bluebird - and I didnt realise they were so bright blue!!!!!!!- simply beautiful - and the blue contrasts so nicely with the soft greens in the layout

Here is what Diane says about this layout

Forgotten Glen Page Kit by Lauren Bavin is the perfect kit for your nature photos. The branches and fern add the extra touch of nature that I was looking for to fill out my layout. The bluebirds are from my mom and dad’s farm. This birdhouse is right in front of their porch. There was a lot of activity going on so I set up the tripod and the “remote clicker” and just snapped away anytime I saw the birds coming in or out. I probably spent two hours or more just happily clicking away from the front porch swing.

PICK OF THE PACK JUNE 20

Todays pick of the pack is by Lynnette ( Lynnie) Siler - She has created a wonderful heritage cum steampunk style layout about her father with wonderful journalling and a super style. She deserves a medal for the crediting of all the elements in this kit

Here is what Lynnette says about this layout

My dad was such an amazing man. He was a man of the future, with visions and dreams. He was a brilliant man, a scientist who saw how things would be. He worked on computers on space craft before we knew what they were, he worked on the technology for colour televisions when they were a thing of the imagination. He worked on the Boeing 747 and the minutemen missiles, but he always had time for little children. Time to explain to us how an aeroplane flies, how decimal points work and how to multiply fractions - all before we started school. He was a dollmaker, a clockmaker and always had a chemistry lab and a darkroom. He was my dad and I love him and miss him.

Wow - as soon as I saw this I just knew Id have to showcase it here - what an AWESOME layout Sharon. - I must say I wondered how people would use the pieces in the kit but seeing the layouts done with it has inspired me to make some more kits in this genre

Here are Sharons comments about the layout.

I love the elegance of this super page by Cheechcheongfun who creates the most magical layouts of her kitty friends.
I really like the out of frame effect on this where the dirt spills out of the frame - I also like how she has layered the pink flowers and leaves on the left hand edge.
A beautiful layout

Here are her comments regarding this layout:

Ginger Boy was once a pet,  now he lives with the homeless. he is such a happy cat, get along very well with the rest of the gang. He is my favourite in the garden of homeless kitties.

Post Script I believe she also used Morning in the Meadow which is where the pink blossom and frame and the background can be found

Ive decided to highlight some of the greatest layouts Ive seen using my products from the DSP gallery - I wont necessarily do this every day but when I see a layout or 2 that really is inspiring I will highlight it here - I hope they will give you some inspiration for your own layouts !!

Dali London by Jeanet

Here is Jeanets description of her creation

The Layout:
I’m a huge fan of Dali and was excited to be at the Dali museum in London. Outside the museum was this enormous elephant statue which is also in one of my favorite paintings of his the ‘Elephant Temptation Of Saint Anthony’. I took so many photos from so many different angles, both up until now I’ve been a bit unsure how to scrap these. I’m no Dali and can’t (or perhaps I won’t) understand his surrealistic mind that created the most fascinating art ever but I wanted a layout that resembled some of artistic feel his creations have.
The answer came with the DSP newsletter this month and the introduction to the Steampunk style. Since then I’ve spend endless time in the shop to try and find something that could help me create this style in a way that fitted my photo. Yesterday both Lauren & Teresa added steampunk products to the store but it was Lauren’s Seriously Steampunk that finally helped me get this layout done.
It’s not quite Dali, it’s not quite Steampunk. But it is a mix of both added a little bit of Jeanet.

The Credits:
Seriously Steampunk
Wishing Pool
Brushed On Splats Quick Bits

I have to say that when I created the Steampunk kit I did wonder how people would actually use it. My personal style of scrapping is very much into the simple recording of memories and less into the creation of a piece of art. I really envy and admire people like Jeanet who can create their own unique and wonderful art layouts from their photos and memories .
This layout is a prime example of this and Im in awe of Jeanets talents to take a few simple pieces of a page kit and create this incredible and unique artwork from it.
Jeanet this is wonderful. YOu are an inspiration to me and to many .
