More scanned heritage photos. I love my grandmother's outfit. As soon as I saw the dressmaker's form element, I knew I wanted to use a heritage photo with a period dress.

Here is another heritage photo that I scanned. It is my mother's younger sister. I am having so much fun scrapping some of these old photos.
This gorgeous kit might have been inspired by a wedding bouquet, but it is versatile enough to be used on many layouts, including heritage!

Here is my second week for my P:52 project which has a beach theme.

I love the contrasts of the darker colours of the clothing with the glittery whiteness of the elements and backgrounds in this eyecatching layout by Mars – i might have to try and scraplift this one if I can find some suitable photos.

I had to scraplift the gorgeous layout by Mars that I showed off as my Pick of the Pack a few days ago
I didnt make many changes to her gorgeous design but I thought these photos of Hannah worked in really well with the kit
I used my Picadilly VC and Just You word art from Sepia Wishes
I’m not sure if I like the very clean graphic nature of this sort of page but it does showcase the photos well and that after all is the point of this album.
I will need to make up my mind fast though because I dont want to have to redo heaps of these after changing my mind half way through .
Anyway this is week 1 . I had lots of photos to choose from but this one really shows the iconic Auckland Beach scene with Rangitoto in the Background so I thought it worked really well for the first page.
I’m sure I wont have as much journalling every week but when I have something to say i will be sure to say it !!

Ive decided its time to get back to some kind of photography challenge.
Whilst you couldnt pay me enough to attempt another project 365, I think I can manage a weekly challenge, but for me it has to be something that a) will challenge me creatively, b) that will have a tangible result and c) doesn’t add too much additional stress to my life!!
So my decision has been to create a themed hard bound album.
I thought long and hard about what theme to work with- Birds were an obvious choice, but perhaps not quite as easy as some others, such as flowers, or leaves, or even clouds.
Living as I do in Auckland – a city with inumerable beaches I decided that my theme would be the seaside.
Each week I will scrap one ( or more) photos related to Aucklands many beaches. I may take photos on many days of the week and I will choose the best to put in my Photo Essay style layout .
I started taking photos today and have 2 that I like but Im not decided yet which ( if any) to use – perhaps I will take some more tomorrow and make my decision then
This photo of seashells was taken at Little Shoal Bay at low tide. I Love the textures and subtle colours of the many different varieties of shells . I added a bit of detail to the original photo with Topaz Adjust
This photo which is treated with some split toning and vingnetting reminds me very much of an old fashioned postcard photo . This is Takapuna Beach – at its most archetypal – a playgound for all water sports. Never too crowded – safe swimming, and great for a long walk to clear the cobwebs.
I love the linear design of this layout – but angled so it really creates eye appeal. The title just adds to the perfection with the lines leading the eye down up and out to the photos.
