Gimme a Copy–the Art of the Scraplift

 

One of the easiest ways to create a great layout in a faster time is to scraplift a layout you particularly like. Scraplifting can be anything from a complete copy just changing the photo, to taking one part of the layout and using that as the basis for your inspiration and any and everything between.

There is no shame in scraplifting, and in fact it can be the perfect way to complete a layout fast, while complimenting the original layout designer.

Hence I started the Gimme a Copy challenge where I will choose a layout I particularly like and leave it to you to create your own magic using it as inspiration.

For the first challenge I chose this layout by DSP Member honeymoon as our inspiration

What an awesome layout it is! This is my lift, pretty much identical because hers was so pretty. I did use a couple of elements from the companion kit, and different word art to match my photo. What started with a simple request to paint our bedroom has evolved into a let's-paint-every-room-and-put-up-crown-moulding project. This is the family room where the boys are painting the aforementioned moulding in preparation for the installation to begin tomorrow. I used several of Lauren's kits for this layout. Avaldsnes is at the mouth of the ‘Nordvegen’ fjord,or' the way north' where the name Norway comes from. This medieval stone church has been a landmark for seafarers for centuries. It still stands as a powerful symbol of Karmøy’s former glory. My grandfather was born on the island of Karmøy and I had the great pleasure of exploring it myself including the house he was born in that was 400 years old. It is fascinating to see such old structures, especially coming from such a young country.
